13 - 30 January 1999. Survey from Zihuatenejo, Mexico to region west of Costa Rican Dome (95 W) and return to Acapulco, Mexico.

1 - 17 February 1999. Make repairs in Acapulco.

18 February – 4 March 1999. Survey for humpback whales from southern Mexico to northern Costa Rica.

6 – 22 March 1999.  Survey offshore waters from Costa Rica to southern Mexico covering the area around the Costa Rican Dome (east of 95W) not covered in initial leg.

24 March – 14 April. Return from Mexico to San Diego surveying for blue whales along the west coast of Baja.
