Nicaragua trips

These are participatory research trips for people who are interested in helping with whale research in a beautiful remote region of northern Nicaragua at a comfortable resort. It is designed to allow us to conduct new research on the humpback whales in this region, which have not previously been studied. In the past these have included two trips, one for adults and one for families traveling with their children (see below for links).

We first ran these trips in 2006 and 2007 and they were quite successful with participants enjoying themselves and valuable new information learned to help the research. You can read about the 2006 trips and view some of the photographs (including those taken below) at the following web sites:

2008 trip schedule

We will be running these research trips in Nicaragua again in 2008 (scheduled for 11-18 February 2008) but have not set exact costs yet, although these should be fairly similar to 2007. For additional questions about these trips or if you want to be kept informed when information on the 2008 trips is available email John Calambokidis at  Calambokidis@CascadiaResearch.org or Erin Falcone (who will be the trip leader) at  EFalcone@CascadiaResearch.org
